Today we're proud to announce that we've been accepted into the USL Academy League. This U20 league allows clubs to establish direct pathways for players to transition from youth soccer to their first teams. The will give players the opportunity to play against some of the top academies in the nation with Academica competing in the NorCal Division against clubs like Sac Republic, SF Glens, and Roots affiliate NOVA Academy.

This league also allows players to compete for Academica while still playing for their local club. That mean's players won't have to choose between AC and their usual competitive club. This is just an additional pathway to achieving their goals of playing at a higher level.

Club President Simon Bettencourt welcomed the opportunity for local players, "Players now won't have to leave the area to play in the USL Academy and will get access to top level competition at minimal cost compared to other leagues. We're happy we can provide a place for local players to showcase and develop themselves while tying it into our senior team. We're excited for what this can turn into."
