The club announced today that former player Desmond Madrigal will be the new head coach of our USL2 squad. Desmond takes over the role after the departure of long time coach Sergio Sousa back in July.

Desmond has been a long time icon in the local soccer scene. Growing up in Turlock as a youth, he played his college soccer at Stanislaus State for four years between 2015-2018. He racked up 57 games for the Warriors with over 46 starts and 3 goals as a defender. Desmond was also a feature for our Men's squad since 2018 where some of his highlights include opening the scoring for our international friendly match against Club America back in 2018. In 2021, he was signed by professional club San Diego 1904 in the country's 3rd division.

For the past 3 years, Desmond has served as an assistant coach for the men's soccer program at Stan State. He has helped the revival of the program under Stan head coach John Powell for the last two seasons.

We're excited to welcome Desmond to our coaching staff and look forward to our upcoming USL2 season!
